A calm news week... Thank God.
This week’s been a big one for REDICE as they prepare to see one of their biggest properties open in theaters in Korea and we get an update for the live-action adaptation of their biggest IP.
“Windbreaker” Refunds and Removal from Service
The fall out of the “Windbreaker” plagarism acknowledgement continues with refunds going out in Korea as the title being removed from Koroea and overseas platforms operated by Naver.

“Omniscient Reader: The Prophet” Overseas Release Dates Slowly Rolling Out
"Omniscient Reader: The Prophet", the film adaptation of the webtoon, has been licensed to 113 countries for distribution including the US, Japan, Canada and Germany.
So far, release dates have been confirmed for Taiwan (July 23), Indonesia (July 30), Hong Kong (July 31), Thailand (July 31), Malaysia (July 31), Australia (July 31), and the US (August 1).

“Solo Leveling” Casts Their Lead
Byeon Woo Seok has been cast as “Sung Jinwoo” in the upcoming live-action adaptation of “Solo Leveling”. There isn’t much known about the project yet, but Teen Vogue is reporting that the live-action will be produced for Netflix as a K-drama which would be… interesting.

Naver Webtoon and Munpia’s Webnovel Grand Prize Winner Announced
Earlier this year, Naver Webtoon and Munpia (one of Naver’s subsidiaries) announced a webnovel content here in Korea. Over 8000 webnovels were submitted and 34 were chosen for publication including a grand prize winner. All 34 webnovels will be published on Munpia and then on Naver Series while the grand prize winner is guaranteed to be adapted to a webtoon.
